Tuning In with iTunes

August 25th, 2005 by Rhoy Pamparo

After saying goodbye to Napster & Kazaa, I pretty much figured that I would have to start buying CDs again. Here comes iTunes …

Although the concept of buying an mp3 from the internet’s been out for a while, it did not really caught up until the recent emergence of Apple’s iTunes services. To be honest, I was a little skeptical when it comes to buying stuffs online. Not to say that I have not bought anything online, I have. It’s just that I work on the IT business & I know how IT people work …

Last night was a different story for me. I purchased, for the very first time, an entire Jeremy Camp’s Restored album from iTunes. Wow! It was fast and easy. The only complaint I have is that I still have to give my credit card eventhough I opted to use a $20 iTunes Card that I bought from Bestbuy. The download was very fast. 12 songs only took less than 5 minutes to download. I also loved the “Burn” button on the iTunes interface. Bought the mp3s, clicked burn, and there it was, my own copy of the album! And I did all this from one application … bravo to iTunes.

But the real selling point for me is this. I went up to R.G. Mitchell the other day to look for CDs. I saw the same CD which is currently on sale for $16.99 + 15% tax. Not a bad deal for an album that has 12 songs and all of them are well worth the money. Well, I bought the entire album for $11.88 incl. tax. Now that’s what I call a good deal!

Anyhow, I still have $8.12 left in my card. Not sure how far it will get me … I’m sure not long!
