Goodbye Dr. Watson
by Rhoy Pamparo on Aug.09, 2006, under Personal Thoughts
As the saying goes, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away”, so does my daily need to use my Windows-based home PC. After passing the point-of-no-return yesterday, I am now an official iMac user! The power of UNIX with the ease of Windows all in my hands. What else can I ask for! Well, a lot actually. I must admit that at first, I was missing the things that I used to do on Windows. But as days progressed, I found that I can still do the things that I love and more. I’ve seen and used many Operating System over the years and I can atest that MacOSx can compete up there with some Linux flavors maybe even some real-Unix flavors especially BSD-based UNIX. Anyhow, I ay not be making sense to a lot of people. But one thing I know, I won’t be seeing Dr. Watson as often as I used to … Happy computing everyone!
Heaven Sent

Praise the Lord, His love endures forever!
The Holy Spirit guided me tonight to write a simple song that talks about just the plain truth about the love of God for mankind. The lyrics are so simple that it might even come as mediocre. But the message it conveys, I believe, speak volumes. Without further ado, I give you:
Heaven Sent
Stanza 1:
Out of His great love,
His life He gave
Out of His mercy
His grace overflows
To us, throughout the world
Chorus:
Jesus, I believe that you’re the one
the Father sent to save the lost
You came and died, You paid the price
Redeemed my soul
When you walked out of that tomb / From the bondage of my sins
Stanza 2:
From the beginning
He was there
And until the end
My Lord, He wil come
For us, for all the earth to know
Bridge:
And on that blessed day of His return
All will bow & kneel to Christ the King
To the King …
Somehow I got a feeling
by Rhoy Pamparo on Apr.10, 2006, under Personal Thoughts
that things are now different for me. One might ask, “What do you mean?”. Well, when I start singing:
Bob the Builder, Can he build it?
Bob the Builder, Yes he can!
or every once in a while, I go and yell, “Mighty Machines!”, I know something is changed.
It was inevitable. It is not a bad thing, just different. As a matter of fact, I even enjoy it sometimes. Singing a song to my son, in the tune of “Miffi”:
Gabby, makulit na baby
Gabby, mana sa mommy
Mana din kay daddy
Ang baby Gabby
It always makes me laugh. Oh well, I guess that’s the way it is going to be. As the saying goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them”!
The Night I Met Jesus
by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.30, 2006, under Melodic Insights
I was browsing thru my old files tonight and I stumble upon a song that I wrote almost six years ago. I can vividly remember myself sitting in my bed with my guitar and a Bible on my side. I did not have anyone with me. Just me. But there is no denying what Christ has done for me. And for you. I finally came to the realization that it is time.
You see, I was born and raised a Catholic. I have always feared God but somehow I feel I am missing something. Not until I came to realize how sinful I was. Regardless of what I do, I cannot please God with my own efforts. No matter what, I have always come up short. But the good news is that, I don’t really have to rely on myself anymore. God had provided a way for me. And the real good news, it is also for you.
It is written in John 3:16 that,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Here’s the song that I wrote on the night I met Jesus. I was weeping and laughing at the same time. Call me crazy, all I know is that I am free …

I got Black Now I am blue
by Rhoy Pamparo on Mar.24, 2006, under Personal Thoughts
Just got a Blackberry today from work. Normally, people will be happy if they got something from work especially free mobile, internet, sms and email. Not this time for me. I still think that getting a Blackberry is the worst thing that could ever happen to a SysAdmin. Why? Well, you are always connected to work. That’s why! Oh well, what can I do? Not much for now but to put it into good use. That, I did. In fact, I wrote this blog from my “Blue Blackberry”!
