thanks karl! it means a lot to me, especially coming from a gear nut like you
yeah, i don’t think i’d be adding anything for a while except for a VL Power Plus 2. I can then power my diamond as well as run my bi-chorus & zendrive @ 12V for a little bit more headroom. then i got my bases covered
own wall wart for diamond & sfx, then godlyke power-all for for the rest. i put a battery on the tuner every once in a while. i really need the vl pp2.
hey larry, the zen sounds good and is definitely worth the money (orig price). although i find it a little too “warm”. i’m sure i haven’t really found the exact combination of tone/voice settings.
the twin tube is very good and i find it somewhat better than the zen. i don’t loose any bass response or highs from it, it even enhances the tone. i would recommend it, only if you’re willing to accept that it is AC-powered.
empress trem? very nice!
in fact, someone asked me about this before. and this is my answer:
“Hi Conner! Empress Tremolo is very nice. If I’m to choose only one pedal from my board, I would be hard-pressed between SFX-03 & the Tremolo.” — from My Gear Page
The zen has many different sounds in it- good luck tweaking it!
If its just a touch too warm, try leaving it how you have set in the pic, but turn the voice about 11′clock-11:30. Will ‘scoop’ the mids ever-so slightly and give a more modern-esqe rock sound. Let us know how it turns out.
Now, the questions is— which is your main guitar? That hot little Tele you showed us awhile back?

Bro, seriously one of the best setups I’ve seen in a while. Nice and simple, with all the bases covered…really great pedal choices!!

Nice! I really dig the 12 volts thing. I didn’t even think about power when I saw your board. What’re you using right now?

Nice board, and is that a Jazz III pick? hehe…
So how are you liking your Zen? In your opinion, has it lived up to the hype?
Other qs— i was looking at the Twin Tube
and the Empress Trem. How are those in your opinion?
