Quick Update

Been away from the blog for a while and I thought I’d post an update for my loyal reader! hehe
- Just came back from a weekend away in Boston with my wife to celebrate our 7th year anniversary. It’s our first time away from the kids. It was fun, although, there were a couple of times when we thought that it could have been fun if they were there. Then we’ll do something that we wouldn’t be able to do if we had the kids with us!

- My wife gave me a Vox Tonelab ST. It sounds great for practicing at home using headphones. I have yet to try it out live through a PA or an amp. It has a 12AX7 tube in it so it’s only natural that I geek out and try to change it right away! And I did

- Got a 1×12 Lopo cab (front-loading/closed-back) for the Maz Jr. and put my old V30 in it. It was a bit boxy so I had to swap the EP-Booster with the Empress Para EQ to tame it a bit for now

- Looking forward to meeting up with my friend next month to watch Eagles/Jets game at Philadelphia. This is slowly becoming a tradition. Every 2 years we will meet up to catch a football game. Thanks to my wife for making it happen as she buys the tickets for us as a birthday gift for me & Dave … I love my awesome wife!
I want to see more of this!

Buddy, I’m getting worried about you as your pedalboard keeps shrinking!!!!
So are you still loving the Maz?
I like the wonderful clean tone with volume down and master up…. and the nice slight gritty tone with volume up and master sorta up. And it loves pedals!!!

haha … don’t worry about the board, i’m sure it will grow again
loving the Maz, my favorite setting right now is both Master/Volume at 12 o’clock using the Tele. I can get that nice gritty tone you are referring to … Zendrive sounded killer but I had some issues with the output jack last couple of weeks so I had to remove it from the board (hopefully I can fix it soon). Lunar Module and 1/2 Gainer are sounding great as well so I am quite happy with the setup right now!

When you are in Philly, do you eat cheesesteaks?
That and Tastycake would be the biggest things that you can’t get in CA. There is a place near my office that does a pretty good cheesesteak but it is only 80% authentic (still better than any of the other places that claim to be a Philly cheesesteak). I grew up North of Philly and went to college in PA. I have a bunch of coworkers from the area that are Eagles fans but they don’t like to talk about the team with the way the season is going.

Those cheese-steaks are great and definitely authentic. There’s a couple of place here also but they really give a bad name to the original
Haha … I don’t blame your co-workers for not talking about the Eagles as there really is nothing much to talk about right now!
Btw, are you on the Raiders, Chargers or Niners side of CA?

We are North of SF so Niners.
I don’t root for any one team after living in Eagles/Redskins/49ers areas.
