What’s up with Rhoy, Tin & Gabby …

Faith

July 28th, 2008 by Rhoy Pamparo

Yet another unfinished work! I started writing this poem/song while I was in the subway on the way home. In faith, I know that extra lines that I need will come. But for now, here’s what I have …

As water gushes under this broken bridge
I began to wonder how I’ll make it through
Then I hear you whisper into my ear
Put your faith in me my son, I’ll walk with you

… more lines here … (i guess no extra lines for now)

Marcus Miller Live

June 27th, 2008 by Rhoy Pamparo

Marcus MillerI have been blessed to see Marcus Miller live last night at the Opera House as part of the annual Toronto Jazz Festival. The man is a beast! Marcus did not only show us how technical and melodic he can be on his solo lines, but how he also put emphasis on the importance of keeping a tight groove. The rest of the band were all great. The stand-out for me is the harmonica player. I have never heard harmonica in a different context than country-style music. It was an ear-opener!

Marcus played a few bars in the keyboard and a song using a bass clarinet. What can I say, the man is gifted! It was one memorable night!

Four Holes And A Stab

November 17th, 2002 by Rhoy Pamparo

Four Holes And A Stab
17 Nov 2002

Four holes and a stab
That’s what it took to save the world
A nail in each palms
One joined both feet and a spear on the side
Hanged on the tree, died on the cross
  Rose again, then we’re free
Sins are forgiven, with God reconciled
Jesus gave his own that we may have life.

What A Shame

September 1st, 2002 by Rhoy Pamparo

What A Shame
01 Sep 2002

What makes me differ, I guess nothing
  Well that’s a shame, that shouldn’t be
I have Christ in me, don’t you see?
What I say and preach, do I not live?

My God, my God! My hypocracy!
nbsp; My Lord, my Savior! Is all they feel
Why such things had befallen on me?
Help me, O Jesus, in my life be real!

What makes me differ, I lived again!
A new creation, clean and pure for Him
Now can you see Him through me?
I pray you do, I pray you really do.

My Place

August 1st, 2002 by Rhoy Pamparo

My Place
01 Aug 2002

For it’s by faith that I’m alive and well
For it’s by faith that I will live again
For it’s by faith that I eat my daily bread
And it’s by faith that I have a place in heaven

For it’s by grace that You sent Your only son
For it’s by grace that I’ve been reconciled
For it’s by grace that I can come in His name
And it’s by grace that I have a place in heaven

For it’s Your will that I can see the light
For it’s Your will that in my life You shine
For it’s Your will that I be like Your Son
And it’s Your will that I have a place in heaven

Sorry, My Dear

April 1st, 2002 by Rhoy Pamparo

Sorry, My Dear
01 Apr 2002

I dug deeper into my heart
And I know that you’re the one
I looked inside and there I found
A love so true for you my love

I searched the world, there’s none
Someone like you just wouldn’t do
You’re all I need to fill my life
That, you did, you made me whole

Forgive me, my love, my dear
I sometimes dwell in land of dreams
I’m sorry for the troubles I bring
  May you accept my apology

Our Prayer

March 20th, 2001 by Rhoy Pamparo

Our Prayer
20 Mar 2001

For You oh Lord had forgiven
  Your graciousness is evident
Strange as it may seem to men
  Your kindness is never hidden

You created us, yet we doubt
You have provided, still we’re proud
We have sinned, and You sent Your Son
  Planned salvation for everyone

Help us Lord, like You always did
Cleanse our heart, take away our guilt
God through Your Son, Christ Jesus
Make us holy, be with us we pray

My Best Friend

March 19th, 2001 by Rhoy Pamparo

My Best Friend
19 Mar 2001

All the while I knew, there’s someone like you
  Who’s always there when l ain’t got a clue
When I’m down and out, seems lost in the bout
You help me face my frustrations and doubts

Why are you doin’ these things, I’m askin’
How can you love me when you know I sin
Your grace I wonder, a little over
  A wretched man, I don’t deserve this

But you said, "No! I gave my life for you.
I shed my blood and was crucified, too!
Your sins forgiven, God’s new creation
Go take your cross, follow Me in heaven"

Thy words now I heed, in my heart indeed
Temptations come but holiness don’t yield
Not self-righteousness, reliance I guess
To You my Savior, my friend, and the best.

SBT

Small but terrible,
  That’s what you might call.
This wonderful gal,
  She is my only one.

Her talent and wit,
  Excelence she seek.
Pursuing what’s best,
Not her’s, but for the rest.

It’s just amazing,
  Skills overflowing
Yet there’s humbleness
  You’ll notice in her ways

Oh, how rewarding
  Truly uplifting
Indeed I’m thankful
To be a part of her

Just Like Me

March 13th, 2001 by Rhoy Pamparo

Just Like Me
13 Mar 2001

Where would I be, if You didn’t give
Where would I go, when I am in need
Who would I call, if You didn’t made known
That You are my Savior, the King of all kings.

I can’t imagine now, how I lived without
I don’t know how I managed, living in the dark
I cried unto the world, help me, anybody!
Someone was there waiting, knockin’ at my heart

Oh how majestic, like a fairy-tale came true
A wonderous love story, it’s free for me & you
Salvation is at hand, if you just believe
Jesus is the key, He loves you just like me.
